How's this place work?

If you could take a little mental holiday and go to any imaginary place, where would you go?
And what would you do while you were there?

Send me a postcard, handmade or otherwise, from an imaginary location. It can be a place from a book or a movie or a piece of music, or some other world you made up. On the other side, write and tell me what you've been doing on your vacation from reality.

All postcards to be addressed to:

I'll scan a selection of postcards and post them to the blog for all and sundry to enjoy.

Postcard the thirty-sixth: Across the Great Divide

In addition to being the name of this postcard...

...Across the Great Divide was the name of a 1976 movie. Just thought you'd want to know.

My dear friend here writes:
"Hello friend!
I'm writing this quick update to tell you about my recent vacation change-of-plans. As it turns out, all of the hotels at the monument were booked up -- who woulda guessed? So, we're in the middle of this place. It's ridiculously hot and there are cows everywhere, but at least the sky's nice.
Talk soon!"

Sorry to hear about your difficulties with the monument, but I'm glad you've salvaged your vacation anyway. Also thought you'd want to know: "It's ridiculously hot and there are cows everywhere!" is the Texas state motto.

no not really. stop writing to me, Texans.
